The first, annual South Yorkshire & Humber Building Excellence Awards was held in March, with Alan Cotterell Practice Ltd, the architects behind the Keepmoat Stadium, picking up one of these highly prestigious awards.

The glittering ceremony, held at Tankersley Manor Hotel, Barnsley and sponsored by IHS, NHER, Sandtoft Tiles and Yorkshire Water, saw companies and projects from all over the region competing in categories such as Sustainability, Commercial Projects and Domestic Extensions in a bid to receive recognition and honour for their high quality workmanship, excellence in design and construction and customer/client satisfaction.

Alan Cotterell Practice Ltd was one of the big winners of the evening in the Community Project category, and was up against some tough competition from South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and the New Options Group.

We are already looking for potential nominees for next year’s event and hope that it will be just as successful as this year, if not more so.”
